ERCC1

ERCC1, or excision repair cross-complementation group 1, is a component of the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway which is essential for the repair of platinum-induced DNA adducts. Consequently, overexpression of ERCC1 is associated with resistance to platinum-based therapies. In gastric cancer, relapsed NSCLC and ovarian cancer, low levels of ERCC expression may be associated with increased chemosensitivity to platinum-based therapies.
